Hair input.

A confession: I haven't had a hair cut since February. I know, right? Almost a year. It's because I've been trying desperately to get it to grow. But I've recently determined it's time for trim at the very least.

Here's basically what I look like right now. This was two months ago, so it's a bit longer today.

I'm finally seeing my fabulous hair girl Rebecca this weekend and I need your input. These are some styles I'm digging lately:
Exhibit A: Emma Stone's Blondeness with Bangs

I'm thinking if I'm not going to hack all my hair off, I need to do something drastic with the color and go back to blonde. ALL blonde. I've been dying (no pun intended) to do it for a long time now. Not platinum ... just very bright and buttery. I don't want to scorch my head.

My hair's about Emma's length right now ... so basically, I'd just be trimming it up, getting bangs, and going way lighter.

Exhibit B: Michelle Williams' Bright Blonde Pixie

I know ... waiting all this time just to chop it off again? Yep. I really loved the ease and cuteness of super-short hair. I kind of miss it. So this option is definitely on the table. I'd want to go super-blonde like Michelle's, too.

Exhibit C: Bangs + Red

For this, I'd basically keep the length (just trim it up), get those cool straight hipster bangs that everyone has these days (Zooey Deschanel, anyone?) and go red instead of blonde. I like this strawberry blonde color; it's basically the color I already have, just a little softer and brighter.

One thing's for sure: This five-head needs bangs. So that is definitely happening.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

  1. I say just trim it up but leave the length and go RED!!! (With the bangs of course) And in a few months when you're tired of it again, go short again and go even brighter/darker red!!! HOT! =)

  3. I reaaaally think Exhibit A would look gorgeous on you! Especially considering you've been waiting all this time for it to grow out ... don't chop it again!

  4. I vote Emma Stone!! Side bangs are flattering on everyone and easy to pull back if you get sick of them! Also, hair is so much easier to style when it's blonde and has some bleach (read: texture) in it...

    Good luck!

  6. I think the first two would look cute on you. I'm paetial to the shorter do myself. The red would be cute. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't do those bangs. They are heinous. NO ONE looks cute with those bangs. No one. No matter if they think they do or not.

  8. I really like the pictures of you with a pixie cut but I think all the styles would look great (great advice, right?). But, I really think you should go red! You have the complexion for it and it would fantastic.

  9. I say same length, side-swept bangs, and red, like Christina Hendricks:

But whatever you choose will look great! :)

  10. I say keep the length and do the Emma Stone.

I'd say go red, but my stylist (and experience) taught me that red is the hardest to get out of naturally blonde hair. Harder than black, even.

  11. I like the pixie best, but I kinda have a thing for short hair. :)

  12. cut A, color C and if you don't like it, you could always go blonde and chop it off, but try something else first since you have the length right now.

  13. I say pixie, but that's only because I'm wishing it was me. But my face is too round at the moment to do pixie. I think the blunt Zooey bangs can be really tricky. It's hard to know if it's going to work until it's done. That red color is pretty for sure though.
Whatever you do, don't go lipstick shopping with Emma.

  14. As Granny would always say, "Lizzy, why did you go and cut your hair off. You know I like it when it's long." Trim it up a little, lighten it up a little, and only get bangs if you have the possibility of moving them to the side. Pixie, NO. Red hair fades. Platinum will destroy your hair. Good Luck and have fun!

  15. Whatever you do, DON'T CHOP IT OFF! I really love your hair long, like I wish I had your hair envious like it. Lighter blonde and/or strawberry blonde both look great on you.

  16. I'm all about keeping the length. I am waiting for mine to grow out too. I miss it. I think I really like like the red color too.

  18. You can try them in stages. Go Emma first. Change one thing at a time. If you change the color, and after an acceptable amount of time, decide you need more change, go for the pixie. Either way, you're still going super blonde! It's scary to think of you chopping it all off so quickly after all your hard work growing it out!
