Snip-snip.

They say you shouldn't make any drastic changes to your hair during pregnancy, but my color- and heat-damaged hair neeeeeeded this. Actually, my body needed it too because it has become physically impossible to stand with my arms above my head for longer than 10 minutes at a time without blacking out. I'm sure it has something to do with the baby squishing my blood vessels and requiring more and more of my blood volume as she grows -- none left for any hair-styling extravagance. The solution: waaaay too many sock buns, which are super-easy and way cute, but after about five sock buns in a row, you start to feel like a librarian. Of the elderly, non-sexy variety.

So, off to the salon I went. It's where I usually go when a problem gets beyond my control. Better than the local bar or Krispy Kreme, right? My stylist doubles as a therapist and I always walk out feeling pretty. What's not to love?

Despite the fact I'm pregnant and therefore supposed to be irrationally sensitive and moody about my appearance, I don't regret hacking off about 10 inches of hair at ALL. In fact, I highly recommend it.

FREEDOM!!!!
