I have a thing for attractive gray-haired men.

I think I've already blogged about the first time I found a gray hair on Dill's head. Instead of mourning his youthfulness as many women would, I actually got pretty excited. My husband's going to be SO HOT when he's old! I thought. Don't get me wrong; he's hot now. But I've always found the "silver fox" look to be quite debonair and handsome. Often, more handsome than normal-colored hair. Is that weird?

By the way, I'm not quite 25. Now is it weird?

There's just something about the implied wisdom of graying hair that makes me think, "Me-OW." Sorry, can't help it.

So without further ado ...

Jenna's Top Five Silver Foxes

5. Jon Stewart

I used to like him better when he was less liberal and just plain funny on The Daily Show, but let's face it -- Jon Stewart is hilarious. And smart. And that smile? For goodness' sake, it's a mile wide.

4. Anderson Cooper
cred

I know he allegedly "plays for the other team" if you catch my drift, but that doesn't stop him from being one of the most handsome journalists ever. Plus, I love his tweets.

3. Dr. Drew Pinsky
cred

I confess -- I used to stay up late listening to Loveline when I was in high school. I always thought Dr. Drew sounded like a dashing fellow on the radio. And then I saw his picture.

The End.

P.S.: Dr. Drew says he went gray when his triplets were born. Valid excuse, methinks.

2.Mitt Romney

First of all: Did you know he's in his mid-60's? Yeah, stick that in your pipe and smoke it (or, don't -- that's probably how Mitt stays so youthful-looking, being a Mormon and all).

And have you seen this picture?

cred

Dill is TOTALLY going to be this kind of grandpa someday. Hopefully the millionaire kind, too.

1. Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf

  1. I love this post, mainly because I share the same feelings.

Also on my list of silver foxes are John Slattery from Mad Men and good ole' Clooney (because he's salt and peppery...hopefully to turn gray).

  2. You forgot Richard Gere.... Must have been a computer glitch because I know you couldn't have possibly left him out on purpose.... I've had a crush on him since Junior High...

  3. Haha, I only made a top 5 list! I didn't want to make it TOO awkward for Dillon, LOL. Richard Gere's probably number 7 or so for me.

  4. I have to say Richard Gere is my #1 :)

  5. I always thought John Locke from Lost was hot--he'd totally be a silver fox if he wasn't bald. Bald fox doesn't sound nearly as sexy.

P.S. Hopefully, for the sake of bloggy solidarity, you'll get some comments saying you're virtually cheating on your husband and should go talk to your bishop like I did on my Tim Riggins post a few weeks ago. :)

  8. I LOVE President Uchtdorf! I have always thought he was handsome! And I agree with you about the silver fox look.. Clay's dad was gray by the time he was 30 as was his brother, so he thinks he will be too - and I told him I am perfectly ok with that! Haha!

  9. HA! This is great. Joel and I bug his mom about thinking Pres. Uchtdorf is attractive and she gets all flustered trying to deny it. It makes me happy inside. :)

  11. Speaking of hair.... totally off topic, but what kind of styling products do you use or is are you just blessed with beautiful, voluminous hair? ie- the beginning style on the hipster bun. And how do you get that curl?! Yeah, I'm jealous and now seriously considering bangs thanks to you!

  12. @Kimberly, I always put Bed Head's Small Talk in my hair before blowdrying. Then, I use a flat brush and blowdry my roots first, then the ends. I use a 1.5 inch curling iron to curl just the ends. Then I use Osis Dust-It powder in the roots! Maybe I'll to a tutorial of that someday. It's a lot of work, which is why I only wash it twice a week!

  16. This post gave me the best laugh I've had in a long time. Love it! I totally agree about the greying hair... my husband's going salt-and-pepper and I adore it.

  17. Jenna, this post made me laugh! Today I saw a guy who you could totally tell he dyed his hair jet black. It looked so awful, and I got thinking how many men I think look handsome with silver hair. I love it!
