Here's the before, my crazy-face picture on Christmas morning. You can see that my hair definitely wanted to be red but just didn't know how.
Oh yeah, we're going on a cruise. (little girl squeal) It's kind of a romantic story, actually. Back when we were in college and I felt like dying because being pregnant/raising a baby while attending school is nigh unto impossible, Dill bribed/encouraged me to finish by promising me a cruise when I actually did. Not that a college degree is rewarding enough on its own, because IT IS (if you're in the midst of one, kids or not, keep at it!) but I just needed that extra bit of persuasion. Dill has been on a few cruises himself and had loads of amazing stories to tell me when things got tough ("And at dinner, you can order ANYTHING YOU WANT. Even lobster tails. Especially lobster tails."). Whenever I was having a particularly bad day, I'd have myself a good cry and imagine a white sand beach with warm, crystal blue water so clear you can see to the bottom. Believe it or not, it helped.
Well, it's been almost four years since I picked up my diploma, so I'd say we're a bit overdue. Just took all that time to pinch our pennies so we could go! And it's finally happening! I'll be sure to post tons of pictures when I get back. In the meantime, remember who you are and what you stand for ...? I can't think of any better parting words. I'm open to suggestions.
Love the hair! I was born a redhead in a brunette's body, so I can relate. =)

DeleteMy parting words? Use sunscreen on your new locks because the sun will de.stroy. them. And they're gorgeous. I should have capitalized They because I love Them that much. Nice choice. And way to wear an aqua necklace JUST BECAUSE IT ACCENTS YOUR AWESOME HAIR. Hair as an accessory? Yes please.
ReplyDeleteOooh, GOOD ADVICE. I have that spray sunscreen. Do you think that would work? Should I just spray the heck out of my head and hair? Maybe I'll just buy a bathing cap?
DeleteSuper jealous about the cruise and the hair! I've been dying to go red for YEARS and just can't work up the courage to take the plunge. If I knew I could pull it off as well as you I'd do it in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chelle!
