I know everyone thinks they have the best parents on the planet, but mine actually ARE the best. And today, they are celebrating 28 years of wedded bliss. Congratulations, Mom and Dad!
As a child, I held my parents' marriage in such high regard. I wanted the exact relationship they had when I married down the road. I wanted us to be a wife and husband who respected one another, loved one another and worked together in equal partnership, just like my mom and dad did. I learned from their example and continually allow their love for one another to influence the way I interact with my own sweetheart. So far, it's been working really well for us.
(Maybe they should write a book?)
Twenty-eight years later, they've got five freaking awesome kids (just being honest!), three "new" kids in their oldest children's spouses and two of the cutest grandchildren known to mankind.

Beautiful posterity, Mom and Dad. We all love you!
(And thanks for getting together, otherwise we wouldn't exist.)

How lovely. And I love how you surely captured the best features from both parents. You are beautiful inside and out.
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet Nadia!!
DeleteAww.. you look like The Kennedy's! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the nice post, Jenna! As you know, however, parenting is a daily endeavor. The Family Proclamation truly describes the best way to parent. I'm so glad we have this excellent guideline to follow. Because each of you are freaking awesome kids, it has made my parenting skills a lot easier to perform. Thanks for all you and your willingness to be such an awesome parent yourself!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful inspiration they are! And... how do they not age!? I have no idea how old that are and would never ask, but they look young enough to have little babies.
ReplyDeleteMaybe everyone in MN has kids late or else there's something to be said about a warmer lifestyle in AZ!
