Also, I went out on a real limb and bought some "Nearly Nude" lipstick by e.l.f. I know, insane in the membrane. NUDE lipstick. And it was three whole dollars at Target, by the way.
I feel like maybe I'm too light-complected to wear this shade, but I do like that it's casual and understated. Maybe I'll vamp up my eyes a bit more next time to balance things out.
Last week was Audrey's first day of 1st grade and let me tell you, that girl rocks some serious style. She picked the top all by herself ($10, Target) and how about those pink sequined puff-ball shoes? My mom found those seriously marked down at Dillard's several months ago. They FINALLY fit, just in time for a new school year!
She rocks the 5-year-old shin bruises, too. |
On that note, it is entirely weird having my kid gone all day. Not sad or scary ... just weird. Lots of one-on-one time for me and this handsome sweetheart:
We are BFF's. As you can see.
Audge-Podge adores school, which was not a surprise. She actually didn't know a single soul in her new class but ever the optimist, she came home the first day and told me about all the new friends she had made at her desk pod. If I had been in her shoes I would have cried my eyes out and demanded to switch classes. But not Audrey. She gets anxious about a lot of things, but not meeting new people. She loves her peeps, that's for sure.
Have your kiddos started school yet? Nieces, nephews, grandkids, cousins? Have you? I always get nostalgic this time of year, wishing I could have a new backpack and freshly-sharpened crayons. School is the best. Except when you have homework. Then, it just stinks.

I'm in grad school so my school year never really ended for the summer, BUT I went and bought myself some new notebooks and a fresh pack of crayola crayons. Don't worry, the crayons aren't for school..they're just like my favorite thing about fall. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like the smell of real Crayola crayons. My grandmother always bought them for us but she wouldn't hand them over until she got a good whiff of the box!
DeleteAs soon as you mentioned the "freshly-sharpened crayons," I immediately thought of Granny. Sometimes when we were out shopping, and happened upon the office/school supplies, Granny would pick up a box of crayons to smell them. :)
DeleteBangs bangs bangs! Love that and the neon pants! And...elf! Their glitter eyeliner is one of the most joyous little life details I know of.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea a glitter eyeliner existed. This is clearly a must-purchase because GLITTER.
DeleteLOOOOOOOVE your hair and your outfit!! you look amazing!! I want to copy all of it :)
ReplyDeleteBe my guest!! They had TONS of those yellow pants at Mills Mall.
