Yeah, yeah, it's my SITS day!

Helloooooooo to all my new guests! If you're visiting for the first time, I hope you like what you see. I spent all night tidying up for you like the good housewife I am!

When I told Dill (my charming husband) that today was my SITS day, he asked if it had anything to do with the little tub of water I had to soak my derriere in right after Smush was born. No, that's a sitz, honey. Little bit different!

SITS -- which stands for The Secret Is in The Sisterhood -- is a 15,000-member women's blogging network dedicated to supporting blogger gals (like myself). The site encourages us to visit the other members' blogs and leave comments. Fantastic, right? I've had my pink SITS button ever since I started blogging because I believe so wholeheartedly in this concept -- "Do unto others as you would have them do to you." The Golden Rule. SITS also offers a wealth of useful tips and tricks about blogging. It's a great site doing wonderful things!

Every day, the girls at SITS feature a new blog and encourage all the other SITS-ters to check it out and leave some comments. I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was to get the e-mail saying they'd chosen my blog for a feature day! Yipeeeeee! I'd waited several months for this opportunity and it's HEEEEERE! Commence Elaine Benes happy dance:

The basic rundown: I started this little blog back in January 2009 to chronicle my life as a TV news intern and mother of a toddler. A few months later, I completed my internship, got my diploma and formally decided to be a stay-at-home mom. But, I'll always be Mom, the Intern because you never really graduate from motherhood, do you? Just when I think I have it all figured out, Bubby (4) and Smush (2 on Saturday!!) throw me yet another curveball and I'm back to square one. Being a mom is definitely harder than any internship or college course I've taken (but maybe not Econ 110). But it's also oh-so rewarding!

I believe learning is a lifelong process and you shouldn't quit just because someone stuck a diploma in your hand. As such, I'm constantly researching (Googling) various topics, reading whatever I can get my hands on, teaching music lessons, trying new recipes, attempting to be crafty, singing my heart out, diving head first into new endeavors and speaking my mind -- A LOT!

And I like to talk about my kids and husband, too. They're kind of the center of my universe.

Old picture ... new ones coming soon!

Well, enough blabbing from me. Have a look around! Feel free to click wherever your heart takes you! If you're not sure where to start, you might like these:

Our Love Story -- It was forbidden! But it was right.

Bubby Was Born -- Saved by an emergency C-section! Chubbiest cheeks in the hospital.

Smush Was Born (Parts 1, 2 and 3) -- Still trying to decide if that VBAC was worth it ... almost two years later.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you love me because I sure love YOU!

  1. You mean to tell me that you hurt still from your L&D with Smush? If so, you deserve a break!

I love that you posted your love story. It was great.

We are always learning. I feel like I've learned more outside of college than I did in. I appreciate all the learning that goes on in undergrad, but there's no substitution for real life!
