New room.

You may or may not remember, but 100 years ago I posted that my room needed a makeover and I enlisted your help. Let's revisit how ugly and impractical my room used to be, shall we?

Yes, those are rabbit ears. Broken rabbit ears.

Welp, you'll be so proud to know that two years later, my room is all fancy now! I absolutely love what we've done with it. Check it out!

Before, we just had one giant room and it felt like an enormous waste of space. So we essentially split it up into two rooms -- a living area and a bedroom. That was Dill's idea. It's awesome! And don't you dig that spotty rug? IKEA for $20, baby.

Now, we don't have to lay on our bed to watch TV, thanks to the brilliance that is this teensy-tiny IKEA loveseat. By the way, it's a sleeper sofa, too. And by that, I mean the seat pulls out so you can lay on it. Kinda silly, but I guess if you're desperate it would do.

I thought about putting up some sheer white panel curtains but just haven't done it yet. What do you think?

After months and months of searching, I finally found my dream bedding at Target of all places. It's by Nate Berkus and I love it! It's really thick and squishy and the material has a bit of texture to it. Plus, what a fun print and color! (The throw pillows are from Ross and the blanket was crotcheted by my grandmother years ago.)

The headboard is also from IKEA, as you may have guessed. I love it because it's not an actual headboard but more of a wall-mounted shelf. Yep, shelf! As you can see in the first photo, there are little cubbies on each side of it. Perfect for storing books and for charging electronic devices at night.

I'm still on the hunt for a decently-priced non-torchiere floor lamp for my side of the bed. Maybe I should just stick with the IKEA theme and go there. Ha.

And do you dig that groovy mirror? Twenty-five bones at Hobby Lobby. I had to have it. Reminds me of the late '60's, early '70's.

Basically, I love my new room. When I walk in, it feels comfortable yet modern. It's like a master SUITE instead of just a giant room with a bed in the middle. Plus, my kids can watch movies and play video games from the loveseat and I don't get twitchy about them being all up in my bed.

You may be wondering where the roll top desk went. Well, I decided to swap it with the computer desk on the landing. So, that's where it resides now, and that's where I am at this exact moment. It looks really cute up here with my bookcase. And I decided against refinishing it -- just left its natural wood color. I'm glad I did. It's really grown on me.

So ... that's that! I wish I could say this post was sponsored by IKEA, but it's not. Maybe next time I makeover one of my rooms, I'll make them pay for it. I can dream, right?

I like feedback almost as much as I like food.
